About Deacon Jim


Deacon Jim Krupka is an author, clergyman, charity director, business executive, husband and father. His previous works include:

He holds a Master of Arts Theology Degree from Saint Meinrad Seminary. He has over 25 years of service as an ordained Catholic Deacon. Jim currently serves the Diocese of Gaylord, Michigan. He also serves the Diocese of Honolulu, Hawaii, on the island of Molokai. His primary ministry focus is marriage preparation and enrichment.

Over the years he has served in short-term assignments such as assisting Catholic Relief Services during their 2000 strategy renewal as a strategy advisor. He was invited to address the United States Council of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) on the Morality of the Global Economy. He served as President of a network of health clinics dedicated to providing healthcare to the uninsured or underinsured. He served as an officer, director, and general campaign chairman for various United Way entities. He co-founded a local charity focused on using music to mitigate bullying in schools.

Deacon Jim has been a leader in business and industry for nearly fifty years. He worked for 30 years in the energy industry with Amoco and then BP. He held numerous executive and management positions including Director of Strategy for Amoco Production Company worldwide. After early retirement from BP he served as CEO of a leading winery/chateau company, Chateau Chantal for 10 years where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board.

He and his wife of 50 years have five grown children and operate a farm in Northern Michigan.
